ORANGE COUNTY, Ind. — Nearly one week after he was shot in the line of duty, Orange County Sheriff’s Deputy Zac Andry is still in critical condition.
State Police say Andry was shot four times – including in the head and neck – by Austin Schepers on January 3rd. Schepers was later found in Louisville, Kentucky, where he was shot and killed by officers.
In an update Thursday, ISP said Andry is “stable” but sedated at the University of Louisville Hospital. The organization noted that he is “a fighter,” and that medics are optimistic.
That being said, the deputy does face a “long way” toward recovery. You can support him and his family by donating at a Springs Valley Bank and Trust, or online here.
His family also asks that you continue to send “positive thoughts and well-wishes” in Andry’s direction.
