FISHERS, Ind. — A woman was sentenced Thursday after crashing into a boy in April last year.

Officers say 33-year-old, Emily Spenard, was drunk as she crashed into nine-year-old Branton Givens Jr., who was a baseball player, as he was walking on a sidewalk in Fishers.

Givens was then taken to the hospital.

Court documents say Spenard failed sobriety tests and had blood alcohol content. She now faces three years in prison, as well as two years of probation. Court documents also say she has seven credit days.
