INDIANAPOLIS–The Indianapolis Colts announced that they are making another starting quarterback change.

They will now be starting Anthony Richardson at quarterback in this Sunday’s upcoming game against the New York Jets.

Colts Head Coach Shane Steichen had said Monday that Joe Flacco would start despite his four turnovers against Buffalo. Steichen also said Wednesday morning that Richardson will be the starter for the rest of the season.

“I talked to Jim Irsay (Colts owner). I talked to Chris Ballard (Colts General Manager). But, ultimately, this was my decision,” said Steichen.

Through six games this season, Richardson is 59/133 (44.4 percent) for 958 yards with four touchdowns, seven interceptions, 41 rushing attempts, 242 rushing yards and one rushing touchdown. The Colts are 3-3 in games started by the 22-year-old Richardson, the No. 4 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft.

Flacco has thrown nine touchdowns and five interceptions. He’s also lost a fumble.

The Colts and Jets play each other November 17 at 1 pm.
