NOBLESVILLE, Ind. — Noblesville Police say officers and firefighters tried to save a man from a pond early Friday evening, but the man did not survive.
Someone called 9-1-1 around 4 p.m. about a man in a retention pond near Windwood Parkway and Hague Road. The caller explained that the man had been standing on a fountain, jumped off, and not resurfaced.
At the scene, a diver with the Noblesville Fire Department found 35-year-old Zachery Polson underwater. Polson was taken to the hospital in critical condition, but he did not survive.
At this time, it is not clear what led to the man’s death, or why he was in the pond at all. His cause of death should be determined in the near future by the Hamilton County Coroner’s Office.
