IMPD Investigating Homicide on Indy’s Northwest Side

INDIANAPOLIS – IMPD officers are investigating a homicide after an adult female was shot on Saturday, April 2.

Officers were dispatched just after 2 a.m. to the 6900 block of Eagle Highlands Way in reference to shots being fired. IMPD later received an update when they were told that an adult female had been shot and was being taken to an area hospital by witnesses.

A short time later, police were told of an accident on I-65 southbound involving the car that was transporting the victim the hospital. IMPD arrived to the scene of the accident and reported four occupants inside the car, including the female who was shot.

The gunshot victim was taken to a hospital, but later died from her injuries. The other three occupants of the car were taken to hospitals for treatment.

IMPD homicide detectives are still investigating the matter.
