Marlon Bundo, Pence Family Rabbit, Dies
WASHINGTON — Marlon Bundo, the pet rabbit of the Pence family, has died.
Former second daughter Charlotte Pence announced the rabbit’s death Saturday on Instagram.
“He taught me how to always try to be kind first and never stop making an effort to get along. We had some wild times together, and I’m forever grateful. Rest in sweet peace, little bunny,” Pence wrote.
Pence found Bundo — a play on the name Marlon Brando — on Craigslist when she was a freshman at DePaul University and needed a rabbit for a film project. Bundo stuck around and became a beloved member of the family.
Bundo was the inspiration for several children’s books written by Pence and her mother, former Second Lady Karen Pence. Some of the proceeds from the books went to A21, a non-profit fighting human trafficking, and Tracey’s Kids, an art therapy program for young cancer patients.
