INDIANAPOLIS — If you want to receive unemployment benefits from the state of Indiana, you’re going to need to show that you’re looking for work.

Governor Eric Holcomb on Tuesday signed an executive order requiring Hoosiers requesting unemployment benefits from the state to be actively seeking full-time work starting Tuesday, June 1.

The federal government allowed states to waive work search requirements during the height of the pandemic.

The Indiana Department of Workforce Development will once again require a weekly work search report from Hoosiers requesting unemployment. These activities include applying for a job, participating in a WorkOne orientation, or completing an online workshop.

DWD will notify affected Hoosiers about these changes to give them time to prepare for the renewed requirements.
