Tri-West School Board Fires Tyler Bruce
LIZTON, Ind. –– The Northwest Hendricks School Board has voted unanimously to terminate Tyler Bruce.
The decision comes several months after the same board voted to unanimously to retain Bruce a few months after accusations of child seduction and misconduct came to light.
Bruce was charged in January and has been on unpaid administrative leave since then. He’s accused of engaging in an inappropriate relationship with a female student.
It was the school board’s stance in February that they cannot legally fire Bruce because he had not been convicted of any crime.
Bruce is still not convicted and has been fired by the board.
The board has also hired Dr. Scott Syverson as the district’s new superintendent. He had been acting as interim superintendent ever since the resignation of Mike Springer.
Springer resigned after the board’s initial decision to retain Bruce.
