PHOENIX–An Indianapolis man tracked his wife to Phoenix, Arizona, where he attacked her and tried to kill her before she jumped out of a moving car.

ABC15 in Phoenix reports Shawn Terry Spink, 43, was separated from his wife. She moved to Phoenix to get away from him. Police believe he stalked her at her apartment in north Phoenix on the Carefree Highway, for two weeks. He made friends wityh her neighbors, explaining that he was bird watching with his binoculars.

Saturday he approached her, sprayed her with RAID, forced her into her apartment, stabbed her in the eye, and used duct tape to wrap her head with a plastic bag.

She managed to get the bag off, said police, and convinced him to stop hurting her. She agreed to go to a restaurant with him. When they got there and a lot of people were around, she bailed from the car. Spink took off.

Police found hikm and the car and the knife in Black Canyon City, where he was arrested.

ABC15 reports the knife was actually a wedding present from the woman to her husband, who’s still in jail in Arizona.
