Eastside Bar Shootout

INDIANAPOLIS – A late-night shootout at a bar on the city’s east side has resulted in two men being hospitalized and a suspect being taken into custody.
The incident occurred at approximately 11:35 p.m. Friday at The New Yorker, a bar located on East New York Street and North Colorado Avenue. According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, a woman ran into the bar to escape a man who was chasing her.
Police say the man then began firing into the bar, which led to an exchange of gunfire. Two men inside the establishment were struck by bullets. One of the victims is in stable condition, while the other is listed as critical.
IMPD confirmed that the suspect, who was also shot during the incident, has been taken into custody at a hospital. The names of the victims and the suspect have not yet been released.
Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the shooting or has information about the incident to contact authorities as the investigation is ongoing.
