Indy Airport Hosts WNBA All-Star Fun with Local Family

INDIANAPOLIS, IN –The spirit of basketball and Hoosier Hospitality converged at the Indianapolis International Airport (IND) yesterday, as a local teacher and her family enjoyed a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to play on the official WNBA All-Star court.
Michele Houser, a teacher from Rossville, Indiana, along with her fiancé Craig Personett and daughter Kennedy Houser (a basketball coach), squared off against none other than Freddy Fever, the Indiana Fever mascot, in a lively game of HORSE. The unique event was part of the airport’s “Run the Court” social media contest, a highlight in the lead-up to the AT&T WNBA All-Star 2025.
Houser, selected by random drawing for the special experience, expressed her excitement. “It was so much fun to play on the court at the airport,” she remarked. “Nobody else, except for Tamika Catchings and a few other celebrities like Freddy Fever, have been here, so it was a lot of fun. Everybody was a good sport, and we enjoyed it.”
The pre-game festivities were kicked off by the high-energy performance of the Fever Inferno Hip Hop Squad, adding to the celebratory atmosphere.
Megan Carrico, senior director of public affairs with the Indianapolis Airport Authority, emphasized the significance of the event. “Seeing Michele and her family out there on our WNBA All-Star court today reinforces what IND is all about,” Carrico stated. “IND is the community’s airport, where good times happen, where family and friends make memories, and where Hoosier Hospitality shines big.”
The “Run the Court” event is just one of many tip-off activities planned at IND, transforming the airport into a vibrant welcome center and offering experiences for both residents and visitors as Indianapolis prepares to host the major basketball event.
