State Police Use “Wolfpack Patrol” to Make Reckless Driving Arrests and More

ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind.–State Police in the Bremen District used what they called their “Wolfpack Patrol” in St. Joseph County to tally up four reckless driving arrests and more this past Friday and Saturday.
State Police Sergeant Ted Bohner says they were focusing on the Cleveland Road and State Road 23 area in Granger after getting many complaints regarding speeding vehicles and motorcycles.
“Between Friday and Saturday, the troopers wrote 80 tickets, 81 warnings, and arrested nine people for operating while intoxicated,” said Bohner.
As for the four reckless driving arrests, two of those came from people on motorcycles. Bohner says the speeds ranged from 74 mph to 102 mph.
“These are also on roads where the speed limits are around 40 or 50 mph. They are roads where apartment complexes and businesses line up in the streets, so it’s very concerning,” said Bohner.
Bohner says he and his troopers have noticed issues with people racing on motorcycles a lot in 2025.
“That’s been a big problem. People are driving recklessly on them. We put some troopers out to see what we could do about it,” said Bohner.
They also made 33 misdemeanor arrests and 14 felony arrests. Bohner says most of the felony arrests were drug-related.
Bohner also emphasized that State Police will continue to have focused patrols with an emphasis on proactive enforcement throughout the summer.
