Two Men Arrested after Police Looked into a Case Involving Guns

INDIANAPOLIS — After the Indiana Crime Guns Task Force looking into a “suspected trafficking of firearms” for many weeks, two 24-year-old men were arrested Thursday.
“Detectives were able to ascertain that Anthony Taylor Jr. and Gregory Henderson III were the suspects in illegal trafficking of firearms and narcotics,” IMPD Officer Tommy Thompson says.
IMPD posted on social media, saying officers searched a home in the 2100 block of East 34th Street.
According to the post, Taylor was on probation for illegally owning a gun, and he was referred to as “violent” after being convicted of robbery in the past.
“He is prohibited from possessing firearms after that previous conviction,” Officer Thompson says.
According to the post, authorities saw Taylor with two guns in the driveway of the home, and they conducted a search warrant. As police were searching, they arrested Taylor and Henderson.
“Detectives located three handguns, one of which was stolen, as well as a rifle, which was also stolen,” Officer Thompson says.
Thompson says officers are investigating if the guns were used in other crimes.
“Detectives will continue to look at that, and they will continue to go down anything that we may have came across or we have logged within data to see if there is any connection to any other crimes,” Officer Thompson says.
Taylor and Henderson were taken to jail for owning guns and resisting law enforcement.
Officer Thompson says if you have any information about this case, officers urge you to give them a call.
“We can’t do this without the community. It’s a collaborative effort, and communities come forward so often. It has been amazing to see that involvement from the community,” Officer Thompson says.
