Pope Francis To Lie In State For Three Days

VATICAN CITY — The body of Pope Francis is now lying in state at Saint Peter’s Basilica. The 88-year-old pope died Monday at the Vatican after suffering a stroke.
His body was carried out of his residence on a wooden platform held up by 14 pallbearers, in a procession that included priests, cardinals, friars and Swiss Guards, while a male choir chanted psalms in Latin.
His body was taken to St. Peter’s Basilica, where it will lie in state for three days of public viewing until Saturday’s funeral.
