ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. — You may remember the believed “domestic stabbing” that happened Thursday in St. Joseph County. Now, the Prosecutor’s Office has charged a man with murder.
A woman had told police that her son had stabbed her husband at the Castle Point Apartments. The victim – later identified as Lee Alexis – was taken to the hospital, but he did not survive.
His stepson, Corey Young, Jr., was arrested at the scene and is now charged with murder. He will be arraigned Monday afternoon.
Police believe Alexis and Young had gotten into an argument after Alexis told his stepson that he needed to be “more respectful.” Eventually, the fight became physical, with the two going into the main bathroom.
There, Young likely stabbed Alexis in the chest. His mother told officers that he then left the apartment and began shouting for help.
Alexis’ cause of death was determined to be a “puncture wound to the chest.”
