INDIANAPOLIS–An 18-year-old and a 20-year-old were arrested for an armed robbery at a Dollar General store in Indianapolis.

IMPD says on Saturday, January 4th, 2025, there was an armed robbery the Dollar General at 3616 E. 10th Street on the near east side. An employee said two people wearing masks and all black clothing entered the store, pointed a gun at him, and demanded money from the cash register. After getting the money, they ran off.

Officers say a citizen told them that they saw a white Ford sedan speeding a way from the Dollar General. Investigators were eventually told that both people went into a Family Dollar on 10th street. Both of them were caught and an arrested in an alley behind the Family Dollar.

The suspects have been identified as 20-year-old Davion Shaw and 18-yar-old Ashleigh Walker. Police say they found out that the sedan belonged to a family member of one of the suspects. They also recovered two black hoodies, a handgun, and a large capacity magazine in the same alley.

“Thanks to the swift actions of East District officers and information provided by community members, two dangerous individuals were apprehended, and a second robbery was likely prevented.  The Marion County Prosecutor’s Office (MCPO) will make the final charging decision.  An arrest and a charge are merely an accusation, and all individuals should be considered innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law,” said IMPD in a Wednesday news release.
