NWS: Rain and Cloudy Skies, But No Snow on Christmas in Indiana

STATEWIDE–Cloudy skies and rain are the two main things you’ll be seeing across Indiana this week. Andrew White, meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Indianapolis, says you can also expect a warming trend.
“We’re definitely going to start ramping up temperature wise. For Christmas Day, we’re expecting temperatures to be in the 40s for much of Indiana. Some spots could be reaching close to 60 by Saturday,” said White.
He also says temperatures like this do happen from time-to-time.
“We definitely can get these stretches through the winter where temperatures can get into the 50s to near 60. Records for this time of year are mid-to-upper 60s, so these warm stretches are not out of the question,” said White.
White says there won’t be snow on Christmas Day. Instead, you’ll see rain.
“We’re looking at rain chances to return. The heaviest rain for that will be across the southern portion of the state,” said White.
You can also expect very little to no sunshine and a lot of cloudy skies for at least the next week.
