ROCHESTER, Ind. — State Police are investigating after a man was shot and killed by officers in Rochester late Saturday morning.
Members of the Rochester PD and the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office went to a home on Monroe Street around 10:45 a.m., after learning of a possible “domestic disturbance involving a firearm.”
There, they say they found 37-year-old Steven Harding with a gun, and he pointed it at an officer. So, at least two officials fired their guns.
Unfortunately, Harding died at the scene. No one else was hurt, but the officers who fired shots will be put on administrative leave for the time being – which is standard in these cases.
Specific details about the believed “domestic disturbance” have not yet been provided.
