Frost and Freeze

Source: NWS Indianapolis

STATEWIDE–Most of Indiana is under either a freeze warning or a frost advisory until 9 am Wednesday.

“There is an area across central and northwestern part of the state that won’t be under any headlines because there will be some cloud cover in those areas that will keep temperatures warm enough that frost won’t be a factor,” said Andrew White, meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Indianapolis.

White says places in eastern and northeastern Indiana will either drop to 32 degrees or below.

“We’re going to be dealing with this for the next couple of days. We’ll have clear skies Wednesday night, but that will bring the coldest night for this stretch of cold weather. Most of Indiana will drop to either freezing or below freezing,” said White.

White urges you to protect your plants so that the frost doesn’t destroy them. He also urges you to bundle up.

“I know this cold weather is kind of a shock to the system given how warm it’s been prior to this week, but yeah, you’ll definitely want to grab the winter jacket,” said White.
