Who Are The Most Famous People From The Indianapolis Area?

According to the interactive map, the most famous from Indy are Kurt Vonnegut and Steve McQueen, sorry Hammer.  Kurt Vonnegut was an American writer known for his satirical and darkly humorous novels. In a career spanning over 50 years, he published 14 novels, 3 short-story collections, 5 plays, and 5 nonfiction works. Steve McQueen, the King of Cool, was an actor whose antihero persona, emphasized during the height of the counterculture of the 1960s, made him a top box-office draw. In 1974, McQueen, born in Beech Grove,  was the highest paid actor in the world.

The map says it requires a person to be born in said city to be considered. The map does not necessarily reflect if the person lived there long.
