INDIANAPOLIS — Last week, the IRS delayed the deadline to file your federal taxes, from April 15 to May 17. Now, Hoosiers will have an extra month to file their state taxes as well.

Governor Eric Holcomb has signed an executive order that delays state income tax filings and payments to May 17 to match the federal delay. It allows Hoosiers who have struggled financially during the pandemic more time to file those taxes.

Also, as part of that executive order, temporary licensing of healthcare workers has also been extended for another 90 days, allowing individuals who are not currently licensed to practice in Indiana to have a temporary license to help with the COVID pandemic.
