INDIANAPOLIS—A man stabbed and killed his 19-year-old girlfriend and stabbed himself when police tried to arrest him Sunday evening, on the city’s north side.
Police were called to a house on Stevenson St., north of the Highland Golf and Country Club, just before 6 p.m., where they tried to arrest the man, described as being in his mid 30s.
IMPD Officer Genae Cook confirmed the young woman was dead on the scene.
The man was taken to Eskenazi Hospital and was in critical condition.
The stabbing may have been during a fight between the two.
