Indiana Man Robbed by Two Teenagers While on Broadway in Nashville

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Two teenagers were arrested after police say they robbed a man from Indiana in downtown Nashville.
The Metro Nashville Police Department said the victim—identified as a 23-year-old man from Indiana—was robbed at the intersection of 2nd Avenue and Broadway at around 3 a.m. on Tuesday.
The man told officers that two kids came up to him, threatened him with what he thought was a gun, before making him walk to a nearby ATM and take out $200. The teenagers then grabbed the cash and the man’s cell phone and took off.
Officers eventually found two people who matched the description provided by the Indiana man near the intersection of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Rep. John Lewis Way. The suspects were identified as a 16-year-old and 17-year-old.
Police said the 17-year-old was carrying three cellphones when he was arrested with one of them belonging to the victim. The 16-year-old reportedly had just over $1,500 in cash on him.
The young thieves are now being held at a juvenile detention on charges of aggravated robbery and curfew violation.
