Arrest Made in 31-Year-Old Gibson County Murder Case

GIBSON COUNTY, Ind.–DNA evidence has led to the arrest of an Evansville man in a 31-year-old Gibson County murder case.
In a Wednesday news release, State Police say their cold case squad and the FBI recently revisited the unsolved murder of Norman Ellerbrook in 1993. Ellerbrook died from blunt force trauma to his head. He also had multiple stab wounds.
During the investigation, detectives say DNA evidence led them 61-year-old Timothy Farber of Evansville. They believe he is the one responsible for Ellerbrook’s murder.
On Tuesday July 22, the Gibson County Prosecutor’s Office filed for a murder arrest warrant for Farber. He was spotted walking in the area of Fulton Avenue and Maryland Street by Evansville Police. Farber was arrested just after 4 pm and taken to the Gibson County Jail.
