INDIANAPOLIS — People stood on the steps of the Indiana War Memorial Tuesday, calling on the U.S. and Israel to stop blocking food and supplies from reaching people in Gaza.

The rally brought out more than 100 people as part of a global day of action. Groups like Jewish Voice for Peace Indiana, the IUI Middle Eastern Student Alliance, ANSWER Indiana, and the Arab Alliance of Indiana helped organize the event. A large banner reading “Stop Starving Gaza” hung over the crowd.

Speakers said millions in Gaza are running out of food, with one in three people reportedly going days without eating. They blamed Israel for blocking aid and said the U.S. should stop supporting it. Some pointed to reports that Israeli soldiers have killed people trying to get food.

City-County Councillor Jesse Brown called it a war crime. Protesters also urged Sen. Todd Young to push for aid access and called on State Treasurer Daniel Elliott to stop investing Indiana money in Israeli bonds.

The rally ended with a poem and chants, as organizers said they plan to keep the pressure on with more events, fasts, and letter-writing campaigns.
