Indiana Fever Guard Lexie Hull Eliminated in First Round of WNBA Three-Point Contest

INDIANAPOLIS–Indiana Fever guard Lexie Hull was eliminated in the first round of the WNBA STARRY 3-point contest Friday night at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.
She was one of five players taking part in the competition. Hull was picked to take the spot of her injured teammate Caitlin Clark.
“I wish I could do it again right now because I was so nervous at the start. All of us were, but it was a fun experience. I’m really proud to represent the Fever. This is a fun weekend,” said Hull after the event ended.
New York Liberty guard Sabrina Ionescu won her second 3-point contest Friday night to kick off WNBA All-Star weekend, becoming the second player to win multiple shootouts. Her teammate, Natasha Cloud, won the Skills Challenge title.
After a slow start, Hull made eight of her last 10 shots — including four of five from the money ball rack — but it wasn’t enough to reach the finals. Hull says having her teammates there to watch her courtside was a big confidence boost.
“I was disappointed. I wanted to make it to the Finals for them because they were there supporting me. But it was still a lot of fun to be out there. I’m very lucky I got to be part of it,” said Hull.
Ionescu, who also won the 3-point contest in 2023, is just the second player in WNBA history to win multiple 3-point contests. The only other player to do so is Allie Quigley, who won the competition four times.
