IMPD Arrests 52-Year-Old Man, Believes He Stabbed and Killed Woman

INDIANAPOLIS–An arrest was made in the stabbing and killing of a woman in Indianapolis.
In a Tuesday news release, IMPD said they took 52-year-old Brandon Lewis into custody not long after the stabbing. They believe Lewis knew the woman well, they got into an argument and he stabbed and killed her. Now Lewis is charged with murder.
“Officers located Lewis in a nearby residence and detained him based on investigative information they had gathered at the scene,” the release from IMPD said.
Just before 10 p.m. Monday, police were called to the 500 block of North Alton Avenue in a neighborhood near West Michigan Street and Tibbs Avenue on the west side. That’s where they found the 69-year-old woman bleeding to death in front of a home. Police say the woman was stabbed multiple times.
