Andre Carson Wants to Co-Sponsor Articles of Impeachment Against President Trump

INDIANAPOLIS–Democratic Indianapolis Congressman Andre Carson says he wants to co-sponsor articles of impeachment against President Donald Trump.
Representative Al Green, a Democrat from Texas, brought the resolution to impeach Trump to the floor of the House of Representatives on Tuesday. The House of Representatives voted to set aside the matter by a tally of 344-79.
After that vote was taken, Carson released the following statement on X Wednesday.
“Yesterday, an impeachment resolution was brought to the floor before most Members had a chance to review the measure. I’ve voted twice before to impeach Donald Trump – so I know impeachment articles must present the best possible legal case.Today, I was able to carefully review the resolution – and I have now requested to be one of the first cosponsors on articles to impeach Donald Trump,” said Carson.
The House of Representatives has previously impeached Trump on two separate occasions — once in 2019 and again in 2021. Both times Trump was previously impeached, the U.S. Senate acquitted him of the charges he faced.
You might have also noticed that Carson was critical of President Trump’s decision to carry out airstrikes in Iran.
“The president can only take war action without Congressional approval if the U.S. is directly under attack from a foreign country, to protect and rescue Americans abroad, safely remove troops, or for peacekeeping missions or humanitarian aid,” Carson wrote in a post on X on Saturday. “President Trump’s actions are unconstitutional — and it’s putting our active duty and reserve troops in danger by getting us into another endless war.
