FRANKLIN, Ind. – A Greenwood man has been arrested and now faces felony charges of child pornography and exploitation.

According to the Johnson County Prosecutor’s Office, Rudy M. Mohika, Jr., 39, has been charged with child exploitation, a level 4 felony and possession of child pornography, a level 5 felony.

A Probable Cause Affidavit filed with the charges said the Boone County Child Abuse and Sexual Exploitation Task force (CASE) was notified via a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) about an individual downloading and sharing child pornography.

A detective with the Boone County CASE task force applied for several search warrants and was then able to pinpoint the location of where the child pornography was downloaded and shared to Mohika’s address in Greenwood.

According to the Probable Cause Affidavit, Mohika, Jr. told investigators during an interview that he had viewed and traded videos containing child pornography over the internet, even though he knew it was wrong.

“I commend our hardworking law enforcement agencies for working so hard to protect our children,” said Johnson County Prosecutor Lance Hamner. “This is how we keep our kids safe.”

Mohika faces up to 18 years in prison based on the felony charges.
