Carb Day, Race Day: Cool Mornings, Mostly Dry

INDIANAPOLIS — Weather looks brighter just in time for Carb Day and the Indy 500 weekend at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
After several gloomy days, the system bringing in clouds and rain is finally moving away. That means more sun will break through starting Friday, just as racing events kick off.
Friday morning will be cool, with temperatures in the low to mid-40s when the gates open at 8 a.m. Fans should dress warmly to start the day. As the day goes on, expect more sunshine with highs reaching the mid-60s.
Saturday will bring a mix of sun and clouds, with temperatures ranging from the 50s to low 60s during the AES 500 Festival Indy 500 Parade downtown.
Race day Sunday starts chilly near 50 degrees under mostly cloudy skies. As the race begins around 12:45 p.m., temperatures will rise into the low 60s. There’s a small chance of a passing shower in the morning, mainly to the southwest of Indianapolis, but the track should stay dry.
