ANDERSON, Ind. — Several people have been arrested in several incidents involving child sex crimes across the state.

In Anderson Kenneth Menifee, 35, was charged with trying to solicit what he thought was a 14-year-old girl for sex. Court documents say he went as far as going to what he thought was the girl’s house after a conversation on social media, where he agreed to pay her $50 for the meet-up.

When Menifee got there he was met at the door by a cop. Police say he ran, was caught and had an unopened box of condoms on him, later admitting to the crime in an interview.

In Greenwood, Jeffrey Hornek, 37, was caught with child pornography, said police, who began investigating him as far back as December, when tips came in that Hornek was using a Kik account to transfer child porn.

Hornek’s house was searched in February and police said several images of child pornography were found on his phone, including some generated by AI. Hornek claimed to have been trying to download anime porn, and denied ever looking at child pornography, according to court documents. He faces several felony charges and bonded out of jail Monday.

In Ft. Wayne, Richard Eugene Konger, 61, was caught with child pornography when police were alerted to his online activities by the National Centers for Missing and Exploited Children, according to the Ft. Wayne Police Dept.

Detectives searched Konger’s Goshen Ave. home, finding child pornography, they said, and also discovering that he had been trying to solicit children for sex. He now faces at least two counts of solicitation and inappropriate communication with a child, in addition to possession of child pornography charges.
