Bill Demaree of Indianapolis Discusses Market Volatility and Ways Around It
STATEWIDE–It’s no secret that the stock market has been a volatile place lately thanks, in part, to the Trump tariffs. Bill Demaree with Demaree Retirement Services in Indianapolis says it is important to keep a level head during this time.
“I don’t think it’s anything to get excited about. I think everything will work out and I’m very optimistic,” said Demaree.
He says President Trump’s experience as a businessman will prove to be very helpful during his time in the White House. Demaree is more optimistic now that Trump is President instead of Joe Biden or Kamala Harris.
“I’m a big reader. I’ve gone back and enjoyed reading his book ‘The Art of the Deal’. He’s a business man not a politician. He has a plan,” said Demaree.
Demaree reiterates the importance of understanding what stage of life you’re in when making financial decisions.
“When you’re 20, 30, 40, or even 50, you’re in the stage where you’re trying to grow your nest egg,” said Demaree. “People 60 and over have to take a different look at it. They’re out of the accumulation phase. They should be more concerned about preserving and protecting what they’ve spent a lifetime trying to accumulate.”
Demaree helps them to do just that. He emphasizes the need of trying to take their Social Security at the right time.
The annuity Demaree likes the most is the fixed indexed annuity.
“You have the best of both worlds with that. You have the principal protection and you have the opportunity for growth because the gains are linked to indexes. If the market does well, you do well, but if the market goes south, you’re protected from that downfall,” said Demaree.
Demaree also helps clients with income planning, legacy planning, and long-term care.
