Make-A-Wish and Plainfield Police Grant 9-Year-Old Girl’s Dream Day

PLAINFIELD, Ind.— A 9-year-old girl’s dream of becoming a police officer will come true Saturday, thanks to the Plainfield Police Department and Make-A-Wish Ohio, Kentucky & Indiana.
She’ll be sworn in as part of a special day built around service, adventure, and community celebration.
The event starts at Plainfield Middle School, where she’ll get a hero’s welcome before joining officers and K-9s to solve mock crimes and track down pretend suspects, giving her a full day in uniform.
Officer Rob Prichard says it’s about more than granting a wish, it’s a chance to show the child just how much her community supports her.
The day also honors the very first Make-A-Wish ever granted by law enforcement back in 1980, celebrating a long tradition of connection between police and the people they serve.
