JACKSON COUNTY, Ind.–Police believe it was a dog attack that killed an infant at a home in Brownstown on Thursday.

Police say they were informed about the incident when someone called 911 to report the attack just before 12:30 pm. First responders got to the home and rushed the baby girl to a hospital where she later died.

Investigators believe the dog that attacked the girl was a pit bull. The pit bull was taken to the Jackson County K-9 Control Center. They’re trying to figure out all of the facts about the attack.
