Circle Centre Mall Closes South End to Prepare for Redevelopment
INDIANAPOLIS–A portion of the Circle Centre Mall in downtown Indianapolis, along with the skywalk connecting it to the Omni Severin Hotel has closed for redevelopment.
The south block of the mall has been vacated as Hendricks Commercial Properties prepares to transform the mall into what they call “an open, pedestrian-friendly environment.”
The goal of the $600 million redevelopment project is to bring new restaurant, retail, entertainment, office space, and residential units to the site, creating a vibrant urban destination.
The project is expected to be completed in two phases by 2030, with the main concourse, food court, and parking garage remaining open during construction.
“The redevelopment will introduce 400,000 square feet of restaurant, retail, and entertainment space, along with 100,000 square feet of office space and 300 residential units. Plans also include 100,000 square feet of outdoor public space, transforming the existing enclosed mall into an open, pedestrian-friendly environment,” Hendricks Commercial Properties said in the announcement.
