NEW CASTLE, Ind. — An Ohio woman will spend almost a decade in prison for an August 2018 head-on crash that killed a man from Richmond.

A Henry County judge on Tuesday sentenced 56-year-old Phaedra Williams, of Huber Heights, Ohio, to seven years in prison.

Williams was drunk when she went the wrong way down I-70 in Henry Co. and crashed head-on into the car of 19-year-old Chase Thomas. Thomas died before he could be taken to a hospital.

Williams had previously pleaded guilty to causing death when operating a motor vehicle with a BAC of 0.15 or more.
