Conservatives long ago grew tired of the incessant political drivel that is forever spewing forth from the mouths of uber-liberal Hollywood elitists, and comedian Ricky Gervais tapped into that sentiment beautifully with his opening monologue at the 2020 Golden Globes Sunday night.

Gervais is a notoriously controversial host who seems to thrive on making pompous, A-list stars and entertainment executives squirm in their seats – stars like Tom Hanks:

I love the above photo so much that I’m having it printed in 11″x14″ poster size to hang in my office.

Round 1:

Gervais began his monologue, which felt more like a “Dean Martin Roast” spectacular, by calling out the many “stars” in attendance for their relationships with large corporations like Apple, Amazon and Disney.

“Apple roared into the TV game with ‘The Morning Show,’ a superb drama about the importance of dignity and doing the right thing made by a company that runs sweatshops in China,” he said.” So you say you’re ‘woke’, but the companies you work for, Apple, Amazon, Disney… If ISIS had a streaming service you would be calling your agents.”

Round 2:

Gervais then slammed the pompous “stars” in attendance for their relation to Jeffrey Epstein, stating that the deceased sex offender (good riddance) didn’t kill himself. The remark grew disapproving groans from the crowd.

“Shut up, I know he’s your friend but I don’t care,” responded Gervais.

Round 3:

Next up, Gervais mocked Felicity Huffman, who recently completed a stint in prison for her role in the college admission scandal.

“You all look lovely all dolled up, you came here in your limos. I came here in a limo and the license plate was made by Felicity Huffman,” he said to the crowd who cringed. “It’s her daughter I feel sorry for. That must be the most embarrassing thing that ever happened to her. And her dad was in ‘Wild Hogs,’ so…”

Round 4:

Gervais finished by advising celebrities not to make any political or “woke” statements when accepting their awards.

“So if you do win an award tonight, don’t use it as a platform to make a political speech. You’re in no position to lecture the public about anything. You know nothing about the real world. Most of you spent less time in school than Greta Thunberg.

“So if you win, come up, accept your little award, thank your agent, and your God and f*** off, OK?”

Brilliant. The only reason you didn’t hear the thunderous roar of approval from red states coast-to-coast is because no one was watching. Fortunately, there’s YouTube, which means we can enjoy highlights of Gervais’ performance for years to come – highlights such as these:

God bless Ricky Gervais (Yes, I know he’s an atheist).

Tom Hanks, what say you?

I’m having that one made into a poster too.
