BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — A drunk man was arrested after his son crashed a car in Bloomington.
Court documents say 34-year-old Jarvis Canada was supposed to pick his 11-year-old son up from school since he was sick. Canada was drunk when he arrived at the school, and he told his son to drive them home shortly after they left the parking lot. The son refused to drive, but his father forced him to.
The kid told officers he didn’t mean to speed up in the car. He then drove off the road and went down a hill. The kid crashed into a ditch near West 3rd Street, just behind the apartment complex where Canada was living at.
No one was hurt, but officers say Canada failed a sobriety test and was taken to Monroe County Jail. He now faces charges of driving while under the influence.
