UNION CITY, Ind. (WISH) — A man fought back against police during his arrest, causing one injured officer to be taken to the hospital.

The Union City Police Department says that on Feb. 7 officers were responding to a domestic dispute, in the 400 block of West Oak Street, when they found Jason Yoakum, 29, who had an active warrant for resisting law enforcement.

Officers tried to arrest Yoakum, but he “resisted and physically assaulted multiple officers,” UCPD said in a press release.

One officer was injured and taken to the hospital. Yoakum was also given treatment for his injuries.

Once Yoakum was released, he was taken to the Randolph County Jail where he was charged for the altercation and methamphetamine possession.
