NWS: Rain Likely on Saturday, Snow Possible Next Week Across Indiana

STATEWIDE–Rain is likely on Saturday in Indiana and you can expect snow at some point next week.
“Most of the area will get rain on Saturday, but some places north of Indianapolis could get some freezing rain when it starts Saturday morning,” said Matt Eckhoff, meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Indianapolis.
Areas like Kokomo, Lafayette, and Muncie are the ones who could get freezing rain.
“From Indianapolis and points southward, it looks warm enough to be all rain for the duration of the day tomorrow with no ice or snow potential,” said Eckhoff.
Eckhoff says snow is possible starting Monday.
“The pattern looks more favorable for that for most of the week, but I’m not seeing anything too intense. Any snow that falls will likely be fairly light,” Eckhoff said.
Eckhoff thinks Monday night into early Tuesday is when the snow could be the most impactful at this point.
“The totals are unclear at this point, but several locations might get a few inches of snow by the end of the week,” said Eckhoff.
