Property Tax Increases and Inefficiencies In Township Governments

Indiana local government associations have been expressing their concern with Senate Bill 1, a property tax relief bill that addresses property taxes with the system Gov. Mike Braun campaigned on, claiming that they need the money that Hoosiers pay in property taxes to fund municipal services.
In light of the pushback against Senate Bill 1, we’ve been talking about the inefficiencies in township governments on the Kendall and Casey Show and how townships in Indiana are sitting on millions of dollars in reserves while Hoosiers have to continue to suffer from severe property tax increases.
White River Township Trustee Chad Ellis joins Kendall and Casey today to discuss what the townships are doing with this surplus of cash.
