PAOLI, Ind. — State Police are looking for a man accused of shooting an Orange County Sheriff’s deputy.
Austin Schepers, 33, is considered to be armed and dangerous.
He’s described as a 5’7″, 150-pound white man with a tattoo of a cross on his face. He was last seen early Friday morning driving a silver 2007 Pontiac Grand Prix with a plate number CRT921.
But, ISP said Friday afternoon that his car had been found “in the Orangeville area.” They asked Hoosiers to call if they saw “a vehicle missing or someone walking in the area,” and urged everyone to keep their doors locked.
Then, in an update Friday night, ISP explained that they had searched a home in New Albany in an effort to find Schepers, though the man was not at the property.
Thankfully, the injured deputy – identified as Zach Andry – survived and is expected to recover. You can now support Andry and his family by donating at a Springs Valley Bank and Trust, or online here.
