We Need To Fire Bad Teachers
Indiana Capital Chronicle:
Indiana Gov.-elect Mike Braun on Tuesday pitched his first policy agenda since his November electoral victory — largely reemphasizing his commitment to campaign promises.
Braun’s “Freedom and Opportunity Agenda” focuses on tax relief, government efficiency, economic development, public health and quality of life factors like public safety, energy affordability and water cleanliness.
With the words “government efficiency” in Braun’s plan, it sounds like the Governor-Elect is putting together his own Hoosier “DOGE” team, which Tony wants to be a part of.

So how do you create more efficient government in these other places? “Building Indiana’s future prosperity dependent on educating and developing a skilled workforce. Increases in teacher base pay, new performance-based pay, a focus on better literacy and math skills, and a dedicated school safety office.” So, the answer is pay teachers more? I’m not opposed to paying teachers more. I’ve said this before. I believe that Indiana should pay teachers the most in the entire country. But we get to fire all the bad teachers. Just agree to that. Just open up the checkbooks. We get to set a standard. If you don’t meet the standard, you’re gone. No tenure, nothing. You earn it every year. Good stuff. I’m all in. I’m all in if we can fire the bad teachers. And when the union says there are no bad teachers, you know, I said this earlier… I’m just going to, I’m just going to smile at you, right? I’m going to be like, you are so good. You are so adorable, and then I’m going to laugh at you in your face. And then I’m going to ignore you and just go back to doing it.
