Guess who’s back, back again? CHI-CHI’s back, tell a friend!

That’s right, the Mexican restaurant chain CHI-CHI’s is making a comeback after closing its doors in 2004.

CHI-CHI’s was founded in 1975 by Marno McDermott and former Green Bay Packers player Max McGee. The chain grew to over 200 locations around the country up until it’s closure in 2004, due to management changes.

Son of one of the founders, Michael McDermott, announced this week he was granted the official trademarks by owner Hormel Foods and will be bringing back the legacy of CHI-CHI’s in the new year!

In a press release, McDermott said he is excited to bring families back to a place that meant so much to him and his own family.

“I still have fond memories of growing up in the CHI-CHI’S™ restaurants…We have seen the impact our restaurant has had on individuals and families across the country and believe there is a strong opportunity to bring the brand back in a way that resonates with today’s consumer – an updated dining experience with the same great taste and Mexican flavor.”

After two decades, a dose of nostalgia is returning and Hammer and Nigel want to know, “are you okay with this?” (Spoiler: THEY ARE!)
