Lucas Oil Shifts Headquarters to Indy

INDIANAPOLIS –A company founded by Hoosiers and known for its partnerships with the Indianapolis Colts and their stadium is moving its global headquarters from California to Indianapolis.
On Tuesday, Lucas Oil CEO Morgan Lucas, President Katie Lucas, and about 200 employees held a ribbon-cutting ceremony to mark the company’s move. Morgan Lucas said the decision to relocate was easy, given the business climate in California and his parents’ Indiana roots.
The company was founded in 1989 by his parents, Forrest and Charlotte Lucas, who were originally from Indiana.
“We started the notion of moving about five years ago,” Morgan Lucas said. “We started working through what that would look like for us, so this has been a long time coming.”
Lucas Oil manufactures high-quality motor oils, additives, transmissions, lubricants, and car care products to enhance vehicle performance and maintenance.
“Knowing and understanding how things were in California versus here (Indianapolis) made it a no-brainer,” Lucas said. “As a company, we’ve been ingrained in this community for a long time. Our name has proudly been on the stadium for a long time, and we believe in the Indianapolis market. We believe in Hoosiers.”
Eighteen years ago, Lucas Oil signed a 20-year, $122 million deal to name the football stadium.
