A Man Taken to Boone County Jail after Stealing a Vehicle

BOONE COUNTY — Lebanon Police were chased a man who stole a vehicle from the owner on North Lebanon Street Thursday afternoon around 2:00.
Officers arrived at the scene, and they saw the vehicle heading north from an apartment complex and tried to stop it, but the driver took off.
The man sideswiped a civilian vehicle during the chase, causing minor damage. Police chased the man in the stolen vehicle until the man reached a dead end on Windhaven Ln., where he made a U-turn and drove directly at officers, hitting a Boone County Sheriff’s Office vehicle. The suspect then sped away again, hitting a Lebanon Police vehicle before continuing south on Lafayette Ave., where another civilian vehicle was sideswiped.
The chase ended near the State Road 32 and I-65 overpass when police busted their way into the car after the man refused to exit.
The man was identified as 28-year-old Christian Brown from Indianapolis. He and two officers were taken to Witham Memorial Hospital, and Brown was later taken to Boone County Jail, where he is facing the following charges:
- Auto Theft – Felony
- Resisting Law Enforcement w/ a Vehicle – Felony
- Battery on Law Enforcement x2 – Felony
- Criminal Recklessness w/ a Vehicle – Felony
- Leaving the scene of a property damage accident x4 – Misdemeanor
- Criminal Mischief – Misdemeanor
- Reckless Driving – Misdemeanor
- Aggressive Driving – Misdemeanor
