Biden (Unintentionally) Fact Checks Kamala's Lie About DeSantis

President Joe Biden praised Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis on how he is handling preparations for Hurricane Milton. The president’s comments come just one day after VP Kamala Harris told the press DeSantis was ignoring her calls to help.

VP Kamala Harris, currently running for president, was ‘asked’ by a reporter Monday about the rumors regarding the Florida Governor “ignoring” her calls to help hurricane victims. Harris implied that DeSantis was purposely avoiding her calls due to pettiness towards the upcoming election. She states, “People are in desperate need of support right now and playing political games with this moment, in these crisis situations, these are the height of emergency situations, it’s just utterly irresponsible, and it is selfish.” 

DeSantis was asked about the accusations of ignoring the vice president’s reaching hand. The governor told Fox & Friends the following day that he was never made aware that Harris even made contact. He noted the hypocrisy of the VP’s comments.

“I’ve worked on these hurricanes under both President Trump and President Biden. Neither of them ever tried to politicize it. She has never called on any of the storms we’ve had since she’s been vice president until apparently now… we know it’s because of her campaign.”

President Biden was asked by the press at the White House Tuesday about the job DeSantis is doing. Biden appeared to have the exact opposite reaction as his VP, in fact, he praised the governor on what a great job he was doing.

“The governor of Florida has been cooperative. He said he’s gotten all that he needs. I talked to him again yesterday… every governor, every governor from Florida to North Carolina, has been fully cooperative and supportive and acknowledged what this team is doing.”

So, it seems DeSantis wasn’t taking Harris’ calls, because he was in direct contact with the actual president. Lest we forget, he is also working boots-on-the-ground to help prepare his state for a major hurricane.

Hammer and Nigel say Kamala’s statement was clearly just a political move of her own and it backfired.

“So either Kamala Harris is full of crap, saying that she called – or- she does not know when her boss calls? But we’re led to believe she’s right there with Joe, making every decision.”
