INDIANAPOLIS — Next week, one Hoosier hospital will be recognizing a special occasion: its 100th birthday.

Riley Hospital for Children will be celebrating Monday, in honor of its “significant contributions towards pediatric care, innovative research and commitment to improving the lives of children and families.”

The hospital – which was named for poet James Whitcomb Riley – was dedicated on October 7th, 1924. According to a press release, staff care for more than 200,000 kids at the facility each year.

At the “birthday” event, state leaders, doctors, and more are expected to speak. Learn more about the hospital’s history here.
