Hoosier School Gets Grant for New P.E. Equipment
BROOKVILLE, Ind. — One Hoosier elementary school has been given more than $1,000 by the American Heart Association to use toward new physical education equipment!
Brookville Elementary School got the money thanks to the AHA’s Kids Heart Challenge and American Heart Challenge programs, which help teach students skills, provide educators with resources, and more.
Grant money is intended to help fund “school wellness initiatives.” According to the CDC, less than 24% of kids aged 6 to 17 get the right amount of exercise each day.
P.E. Teacher Miranda Rauch says, “We’ll be using this grant to purchase new soccer goals, multi-purpose balls and jerseys among other items as we instill a love for physical activity in our students.”
