Fatal Crash on State Road 47 in Boone County

Lebanon, Ind. — Around 1pm Monday, The Boone County Sheriff’s Office responded to an accident involving a dump truck and a pickup on State Road 47 East.
A white 2008 Chevy Silverado, driven by Kyle Smith, 34, of Kirklin, Indiana was heavily damaged along with an overturned dump truck driven 61-year-old Scott
Pickett of Lafayette. Smith died at the scene while Pickett was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The incident is still under investigation by The Boone County Fatal Alcohol Crash Team.
